Report on Perpetual Profession and Ordination to Diaconate - July 2026 - India
On the 6th of April, five brothers - Anil, Deva, Pradeep, Dhiren and Joseph began their IP4 program at Eymardian Scholasticate, Pune. Bro. Androu from Our Lady of Assumption province, Philippines, joined the program and went back completing the preparation as scheduled for him. Different resource persons (sss and others) across the globe brought their inspiring insights on founder, congregation, Rule of Life, mission, vision, eucharistic spirituality, religious life etc. ending with retreat at Sanjeevan Ashram at Pune guided by Fr. Dilan sss.
Perpetual Profession (04/07/2026)
The preparation for the Final Vows and Diaconate had begun weeks before, especially on liturgy, fellowship and invitation. On the day of Perpetual Profession that was on 4th July 2026, the brothers began the day with an hour of adoration where they shared their Eucharistic vocation journey. All the family members of the five brothers, sss priests, invited guests and the capuchin community who took care of the choir arrived. Rev. Fr. Peter Fernandez sss along with Fathers Devan sss, the Scholastic director and Dilan sss the retreat preacher from Sri Lanka gave practice to brothers. In the evening, at 5:30 pm during the mass, in the presence of around 12 sss priests, 2 invited priests, 1 finally professed brother, 5 scholastics and the family members, the brothers made their perpetual profession. The celebration ended with felicitation and a fellowship meal.
Ordination to diaconate (05/07/2026)
After the Final profession, Fr. Provincial, along with Fr. Devan prepared brothers spiritually with one hour of adoration in the morning and liturgically by giving them practice. In the evening, at 6:45 pm His Lordship Stephen Fernandes, auxiliary bishop of Bombay arrived. The invited guests from the campus, priests, religious gathered in big number. There were around 22 priests, 11 nuns, and other religious from various congregations present. The ordination to the diaconate was celebrated in a meaningful and grand manner. During the Eucharistic celebration the newly ordained deans thanked all for their support to that day. After the mass there was felicitation followed by agape.
These two days of celebrations of Final Vows and Diaconate brought more blessings and graces to the Eymardian Scholasticate Community. These inspired the brothers and a witnessing moment for all the sss members to rest of the religious and others in DNC campus. People or religious who could not make it for both days, were united with the celebrations virtually as there was live streaming for both the days.
